The Upbeat Beatdown- http://www.upbeatbeatdown.co.uk
With a combination of catchy hooks and explosive live performances the Upbeat Beatdown are looking to show that they are serious about their music and just as set on having a good time; providing a perfect excuse for both yourself and themselves to get drunk mid-week without that familiar next day feeling of guilt and shame.
..In short, the Upbeat Beatdown are not trying to change the face of music, they’re just looking to put the smile back on it.
…Please listen, enjoy and come back for more.
Formed in late 2011 after meeting through friends and a shared passion for the same music, LUCA spent their early months in continual rehearsal sessions looking for the right sound before taking to the stage for their debut show as part of King Tut’s New Year’s Revolution festival supporting Raymond Meade and have taken to the infamous Glasgow venue’s stage on a further two occasions. More recently, Luca were asked by Glasgow indie label Flowers in the Dustbin to support Mummy Short Arms at their recent album launch at the Captain’s Rest which Luca were delighted to play.
Bronagh Monaghan- http://bronaghmonahan.weebly.com/
Since crossing the sea from her hometown of Belfast in 2008, Bronagh Monahan has certainly made her voice heard in Glasgow.
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter has brought her own unique sound to the city’s renowned music scene, and is now one of Glasgow’s fastest rising female vocalists.
Having caught the eye of Radio 1′s Ally McCrae, Bronagh featured on his BBC Introducing show earlier this year, and soon found herself supporting the likes of folk hero and Grammy nominee, Ane Brun, at Glasgow’s famous King Tuts.
Having recently graduated with Honours in Music from University of Glasgow, Bronagh has her sights set on a full-time career in the business.
With her debut E.P. ready for launch, Bronagh Monahan is a name you’ll soon be hearing a lot more about.
